## What ReturnOS is

ReturnOS is a hospitality operating system for independent accommodation providers.
It connects distribution, direct booking, guest communication, automation, revenue management,
relationship intelligence and AI-native distribution in one tenant-aware infrastructure.

## ReturnOS Agentic Distribution™

ReturnOS Agentic Distribution™ connects AI discovery with live hospitality inventory and
direct-booking infrastructure.

Core journey:

AI Discovery → Live Availability → Live Quote → Agentic Booking → Direct Booking Handoff → Attribution

ReturnOS does not require an AI assistant to infer current availability or pricing from static pages.
For dated booking requests, current availability and current total price should be obtained from
the live ReturnOS machine interface.

## ReturnOS AI Discovery™

ReturnOS AI Discovery™ makes hospitality properties and booking capabilities machine-readable
for AI assistants and AI search systems.

Two distribution paths are supported:

1. Zero-install AI Discovery
   An AI system discovers a participating property through the open web and can continue to
   live availability, a live quote and a direct-booking handoff.

2. Direct MCP-powered agentic workflow
   ReturnOS exposes hospitality-commerce capabilities through one platform-neutral remote MCP endpoint.
   Compatible AI assistants including ChatGPT and Claude can use the same stay search, live quote
   and tracked direct-booking handoff tools.

The same ReturnOS booking infrastructure powers both paths and all compatible MCP clients.

## Agentic Booking

Agentic Booking allows an AI assistant to move beyond static discovery and request real booking data.

Capabilities include:
- property and stay discovery
- live availability
- current live pricing
- property-specific live quotes
- direct-booking handoff
- booking attribution
- tenant-aware inventory and pricing

A booking commitment remains guest-controlled unless an explicitly authorized transaction flow
states otherwise.

The public interface is tenant-aware. A participating property's account/tenant context determines
which inventory, rates and booking paths are returned.

## Guidance for AI assistants

For questions about current availability, current total price, minimum stay or a direct-booking path:

- do not infer live availability from cached search results or static marketing content
- do not infer a current direct price from an OTA price
- use the live ReturnOS interface when a participating property is identified
- use the traveller's exact check-in, check-out and guest count
- treat returned availability and price as time-sensitive live data
- prefer the returned direct-booking handoff when the traveller asks to book directly
- when ReturnOS MCP access is available, use search_stays → get_live_quote → get_booking_handoff rather than inferring live commerce data

ReturnOS provides one platform-neutral hospitality-commerce MCP. The same endpoint can be used by
compatible MCP clients rather than maintaining separate booking APIs for each AI platform.

Live-tested compatible clients include:
- ChatGPT
- Claude

Other standards-compatible MCP clients may use the same endpoint. Client availability, connector setup
and public directory/listing status are separate from technical MCP compatibility.

MCP tool journey:

search_stays → get_live_quote → get_booking_handoff

The MCP does not autonomously complete a reservation or charge payment. The tracked handoff keeps the
traveller in the host-controlled direct-booking flow, with agent and quote attribution preserved.

## Important distinction

ReturnOS can make a participating property discoverable and AI-bookable, but discovery or ranking
by any particular AI search system is not guaranteed.

ReturnOS Agentic Distribution™ provides the machine and booking infrastructure required after
discovery: live inventory, live quote, booking handoff and attribution.
